publish date : 2022-11-11
To accommodate epidemic prevention policies, Class 26 category 1 of fire safety sergeant was required to take autonomous rapid test with negative results for Covid-19 a day prior to the enrollment and present the testing videos. For those who could not take the test in advance were asked to arrive earlier for the on-site test.
On July 19, 2022, all 10 cadets, with an average age of 42, were fully vaccinated of 3 doses and completed the enrollment with negative COVID-19 test results on schedule.
Under the premise of maintaining a certain level of training quality epidemic preventions were the top priority. In addition to taking body temperature at the school gate, filling out TOCC Assessment Form, the opening ceremony on the enrollment day was cancelled to avoid gatherings. Prevention measures included reporting body temperature on a daily basis, washing hands frequently, wearing masks throughout classes, disinfecting microphones regularly, extending distance between seats, and roommates sitting within a nine-square division during the training. Moreover, boxed meals and exclusive bathrooms were provided for cadets in order to reduce the risk of infection and tighten control over close contacts.
On the purpose of enhancing the cadets’ basic manners, team spirits, correct values and discipline, a three-day orientation with simple but effective curriculum were conducted to help the cadets quickly adapt to campus routine. The cadets’ demeanor was unskillful in the beginning, but after receiving effective training with perseverance, they turned their movement from maladroit to proficient, and finally showed synchronized movements and high spirit in cop song performance during the final acceptance. EETC director Tyan-Muh Tsai encouraged the cadets to keep this spirit in the following 4-month training.
Due to severe pandemic situation, all staffs of EETC maintained a cautious attitude towards the implement of each prevention measure to finish the training courses on schedule and cultivate well-trained cadres who will meet the public’s expectations.
